I dit a lot off experiments to power up my TR2. You can go different ways to power up your engine. Not sure how true that is, but I see that Moss has a nice supercharger set up for the TR3 (a bit pricey, but looks like it would be an option provided the bottom end can be built strong enough to handle the supercharger, and limit boost to 5-6psi).ĭrivetrain would be converted over to a 5spd manual, and a Limited Slip Differential, either a Quaife or Gripper to handle the added power (need to do more research on this). I've heard that the Judson supercharged TR3s were putting out close to 200hp. This will be a fast street car, and not a track car. I haven't decided if Naturally Aspirated or Supercharged is the way to achieve these goals, but would like to keep redline at 5000 rpm. What modifications would be recommended for the cylinder head? Target HP would be about 160hp (more if possible)

I'd like input on larger Pistons (cast or forged), Connecting Rods (stock or forged), Crankshaft (stock, nitride, billet steel), how to strengthen the bottom-end 3 main bearings to make it strong, and reliable (bullet proof, if possible). And yesthe carruns very good.Looking to get some input / advise on a 1961 Triumph TR3A that I am looking to rebuild the engine to make a fast street car. Again just surface pitting from the old mat. It has a new mat and the floor is very solid. The owner asked me to state that in the trunk of the car there was some surface rust under the trunk mat on the floor that the previous owner had cleaned up and painted over. On May-08-18 at 06:24:10 PDT, seller added the following information: We will help with loading on our end and in anyway we can, For your questions please call Bill (208)750-0000

The car starts easy, runs& drives very nicely andthe new clutch is smooth. The caris very solid and is a good driver quality, but he said it is sold as is.He has set a very resizable reserve to sale! Buyer is responsible for shipping and all shipping costs. I'm listing this little Triumph for a friend and will take all questions to him. This car has much work done and undoubtedly there is more to be done. In his 70’s now he says “time to let it go”. Having a past farming history he always enjoyed working and tinkering and was a member of several British car clubs. He primarily was concerned with maintenance and drivability. He has owned and enjoyed this car for ten years.

The classic Washington license plate on the car will stay with car if sold in the state of Washington, otherwise owner will keep plate.Ĭurrent owner has had Triumphs since 1964. Original ratchet handle but ratchet not working-can be taken apart to fix. Master brake, clutch and slave cylinders. Rear leaf springs (huge difference in ride). Within approximately 2-8 years (low miles since): English Falcon exhaust. Teeth all looked good with no chips or discernible wear. New upgraded syncro rings, bearing, seals. Odometer shows total miles on car is 124,862. recently torqued and may be again at 1200-1500 miles. Engine runs strong and smooth and is just beginning to be broken in. High capacity starter motor from British Starters. Upgrades: Hi strength cylinder head bolts. All machine work done by the lead mechanic at the local Massey Ferguson dealer (ancestor to the Tr3 engine) familiar with this engine. New upgraded cast iron headĬomplete with new valves, springs, seats, guides. New 86mm pistons and liners, camshaft trued to stock, new bearing. Not a trailer queen but does looks pretty. (again please look at pictures) Newer hardura boot mat.

Paint is showing some age with nicks and scratches and one ding on front fender down low. No known rust.Paint is slightly mismatched in places, some minor body work has been done in years past. (please look at Pictures of parts to see side windows)

Side windows need attention and mounting plates put back on. Weather gear has shrunk and should be replaced. Older upholstery in fair condition and a bit shabby in places but is serviceable. Temperature gauge works but is a different brand. An electrician should be able to solve it and I will include helpful info as to what happened.
